On Sunday July 10th the Friends of Letocetum organised an Open Day at the site as part the National Archaeology Festival.. To entertain and inspire the many visitors, various displays were present. These included Ms. Wenlock’s Roman Beauty Parlour, Cliff the Roman Blacksmith, a Roman herbarium, lamp- and tile-making, finds identification and handling, and much general information about the site. Roman military training (very serious!) for children was also included, and the museum was open too. Special guest  Mick Aston of Time Team began his career in archaeology at Wall. It was a great day!
