Tonight's intended speaker Dr Duncan Frankis is unwell and in the process has completely lost his voice, and therefore unfortunately cannot be with us. His talk on Birmingham Brass Founders .... will now be rescheduled for a future date.
Dr Richard Totty has kindly stepped in at short notice and will instead give his talk on The 1851 Religious Census of Staffordshire. Alongside the 1851 population census, a count took place separately of all the functioning religious institutions (churches) extant across the United Kingdom, in an endeavour to establish how many there were and whether there were sufficient to cater for the spiritual needs of the entire population. It was an interesting exercise but one which was never to be repeated .. Richard will tell us of the outcome for Staffordshire.

Refreshments in the form of tea, coffee and biscuits will be available. Non-Member visitors will be welcome paying an admission charge of £3 at the desk.
