Amongst the various content are details of the SA&HS Lecture Programme, arranged by Brian Bull, for the coming spring period and not concluding until Friday 6th June when a break will then be taken over the summer months. The talks will be the by now usual mix of 'live' in person presentations at auditorium and those taking place virtually via the means of Zoom to your digital screens.
The Newsletter 'speaks for itself' when you read it. Just to pick out though: There's confirmation of the recent opening of the new Staffordshire History Centre (SHC) in Stafford, an interesting piece on the history of the Order of the Garter and associations with Uttoxeter written by Nigel Tringham, news of a significant Day School event taking place in Shrewsbury in March, and a short paper by Mike Hodder on the upcoming 500th anniversary of the suppression of Sandwell Priory. Mark Knight provides details of embarkation in 2025 of a Historic Graffiti Survey in the upper Trent Valley (churches mainly), being organised by Staffordshire Wildlife Trust in conjunction with ourselves SA&HS, which Members may very well be interested in participating in. Following his successful guided visit to three historic Staffordshire churches in 2024, John Hunt will be leading a similar excursion, this time to Ansley and Berkswell churches in Warwickshire in early March - see page 15. And, we bring you an update on the imminent closure of the Museum of Cannock Chase provided for us by Gareth Seddon.
BUT there's much more in the Newsletter ! - e.g. details of an interesting talk by Richard Totty at the end of January on the Bawdy Courts of Lichfield which will be held at the new SHC.
