Robert lives in West Hallam Derbyshire and has been giving history presentation since 2005. His talks are mainly about and generally cover the where he lives with some exceptions. The Village Lock Up covers a wider area. A village lockup is a historic building that was once used for the temporary detention of people in England and Wales, mostly where official prisons or criminal courts were beyond easy walking distance. Lock-ups were often used for the confinement of drunks, who were usually released the next day, or to hold people being brought before the local magistrate.
